Clean Works uses a controlled gas-phase treatment that combines hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), UV-C light, and ozone (O₃) to generate highly antimicrobial hydroxyl radicals (•OH).

These highly reactive radicals attack microorganisms on the surface of food products and other treated surfaces by damaging cell membranes, proteins, and genetic material, disrupting essential biological functions and rapidly inactivating the microorganism.

After treatment, the radicals dissipate into water and oxygen, leaving behind no residue.
